Shepard Fairey @ Galerie Itinerrance June 2016

By on 31st December 2016

Following on from the Earth Crisis Globe Installation at the Eiffel Tower in November 2015, Shepard Fairey opened the Earth Crisis show in June 2016 at Galerie Itinerrance.

The gallery itself is a very large space requiring an equally large body of work to be able to fill it and Shepard certainly put together a great collection of some huge canvases, HPM’s, prints and other small works on paper. Standing down the centre of the gallery were 2 large and impressive replicas of the Globe installation. With some familiar propaganda driven imagery and, in-line with the theme of the show some strong ecological and conservation messages, presented in a range of aqua tones the whole body of work was very aesthetically pleasing.

In the build-up to the show Shepard also created 2 new large scale murals, Earth Crisis and Liberte to go along with his previous mural painted 2 years before.

The opening night was an immensely popular event with Shepard in attendance and even making an appearance as a DJ on the decks that were set beneath the huge Globe Installation suspended outside of the entrance to the gallery.
